How to add a charge or credit to a resident
Adding a custom charge or credit can be done on the resident profile or from the residencies screen in bulk.
To apply Custom Credits or Charges to a resident's ledger, follow the steps below...
- Login to your Livable Dashboard: save.livable.com/login
- Locate your Property: In the property listing on the left side of your screen, click on the property address and then select the "Residents" tab. For details on adding multiple Custom Charges or Credits at once, see the "Bulk Credit/ Charges" section below.
- Select the Resident's Name: Under the "Resident Enrollment" column, click on the Resident's name. This will open a new window.
- Select "View Profile": At the bottom of the new window, click on "View Profile" to open the resident's profile. This will open the resident's profile in a new tab.
- Select "Post Charge or Credit": On the newly opened tab, locate the "Post Charge or Credit" button in the top center of the resident's profile. This will open the transaction details window.
- Charge Title: Let the Resident know what the charge or credit is for.
- What to post: Are you posting a charge or a credit?
- Type: What is the utility or fee type?
- Post Type: Will this be a one-time or recurring transaction?
- If recurring, how often and when will the recurring schedule end?
- Details: What is the amount of the transaction?
- Internal Memo: Enter notes to yourself and your team regarding this transaction. Tip: This note also allows our support team to better assist your residents when they reach out regarding balances, ledger questions, and concerns about transactions.
- Note to Residents: Provide details to the resident regarding the transaction.
Click "Submit" to complete the transaction.
Examples of Charges:
- Starting Balances
- Additional charges owed for a utility not included in the latest allocation
- Additional amenities that are unique to a unit or resident.
Examples of Credits:
- Final Balances
- Resident overpaid last charge amount
- Climate Credits (found on some electricity bills. Check with your utility provider to find out if this applies to your property)
Bulk Credit/Charges
To apply Custom Credits or Charges to a resident's ledger, follow the steps below...
- Login to your Livable Dashboard: save.livable.com/login
- Locate your Property: In the property listing on the left side of your screen, click on the property address and then select the "Residents" tab.
- Select the units: Using the check boxes to the left of each unit you would like to apply a Custom Credit or Charge to, select your units. (Keep in mind all transaction details will be the same for each unit; if each unit has different transaction details, it may be best to process individually or as multiple bulk groups.) To select all units, select the check box at the top of the check box listing.
- Select the Bulk Action: Once you have made your selection, you will notice that a bulk selection window has opened at the bottom of your screen. Select the "Post charge or credit" icon. This is the $ icon located on the left side of the bulk selection window next to "Batch actions."
- Charge Title: Let the Resident know what the charge or credit is for.
- What to post: Are you posting a charge or a credit?
- Type: What is the utility or fee type?
- Post Type: Will this be a one-time or recurring transaction?
- If recurring, how often and when will the recurring schedule end?
- Details: What is the amount of the transaction?
